Brink uses Firebase — Google's app development platform — to collect anonymous crash reports, performance diagnostics and usage analytics. This helps us fix bugs and improve the app. We never collect your browsing content, research notes, saved pages or recordings. Everything you create in Brink stays on your device.
Brink uses Firebase (provided by Google LLC) for crash reporting, performance monitoring, push notifications and analytics. The data collected through Firebase is used solely to improve app stability, performance and your experience. The following data types are collected:

None of this data includes your browsing history, search queries, research folder contents, notes, recordings or any other content you create inside Brink. All collected data is anonymised and not linked to your identity.

Brink never collects, stores or transmits the following:
All content you create within the app — your folders, notes, saved research, recordings — is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
Brink requests access to your device microphone solely to support the Lecture Capture feature, which allows you to record audio directly within the app. This permission is only active while you are actively recording.
Microphone recordings are stored entirely on your device. They are never uploaded, transmitted or shared with us or any third party. You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device Settings.
Brink uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications. If you grant notification permission, a Firebase-generated push token is used solely to route notifications to your device. This token is not linked to your personal identity and is not used for any other purpose.
Brink is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain data as part of the App Store experience, including purchase records and download information, in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not control or have access to this data.
If you use the contact form on our website, the information you submit (name, email address and message) is used solely to respond to your enquiry. This data is not stored beyond the purpose of your enquiry and is not shared with third parties.
Brink is designed for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Data collected via Firebase is stored on Google's infrastructure and governed by Google's security practices. Content you create within the app is stored locally on your device, protected by your device passcode, Face ID or Touch ID. We recommend keeping your device and iOS up to date.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes we will notify users via an in-app notice and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
